Police form 4 teams to crack robbery case

The police have constituted four teams to investigate the case. The Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) H S Revanna is heading the teams. The first team is working in the City, while the second is busy collecting details outside the State. The third team is collecting details of professional dacoits, while the fourth one is busy preparing portraits of the accused based on information gathered from eye-witnesses. The police are not ruling out the involvement of insiders in the robbery.

Meanwhile, the police have started questioning the staff of CMS Securitas. All those, who were in the Maruti Omni when the incident occurred, have also been questioned, said police sources. Three persons had accosted the Maruti Omni when it approached a narrow road behind the Ayyappa temple at Jalahalli. They brandished knives and lethal weapons, threatened those inside the Omni, lifted the cash box containing Rs 41 lakh and fled.

Woman killed in accident
A 26-year-old woman, riding pillion on her husband's two-wheeler died on the spot after a speeding lorry rammed into their vehicle near SKF U-turn on Hosur Road on Wednesday morning. Hebbugodi police have identified the deceased as Banu, a resident of Hosur. Mohan Raj, Banu's husband suffered major injuries and is being treated at a City hospital.
Mohan is employed at Biocon and his wife was on training at the same place. The couple was on their way to work when the mishap occurred.
