A middle -aged man hanged himself at his home in Banashankari II Stage, late on Thursday evening, after incurring huge losses in the stock market.

Guruprasad, 42, a stock broker, hanged himself from the ceiling in a small room on the third floor terrace, even as his wife was present in the first floor of the house. The incident was discovered when she went upstairs to check up on him as he had not returned hours after going to the terrace.

Police said that Guruprasad left behind a suicide note, in which he claimed sole responsibility for the suicide and revealed that he had taken the extreme step after being unable to bear losses suffered recently in the stock trade.

Banashankari Police have registered a case and are investigating the case.
