Businessman, software engineer robbed of cellphones, valuables

 Two men were assaulted and robbed of their valuables in two separate incidents in the City, late on Thursday night.


Raghavendra, a businessman, closing the shutters of his marketing firm on Sannidhi Road in Basavanagudi, was attacked by two motorcycle-borne individuals. The men stabbed Raghavendra’s left hand and made off with his high-end mobile phone, worth nearly Rs 31,000. A case has been registered at Basavanagudi Police Station.


In another incident at Chandra Layout, three men speeding on a scooter, assaulted and robbed a software engineer as he was dropped near his apartment by the office cab at around 11 pm.


As Vijayendra Shetty alighted from the cab near his home at Shivanjali Apartments, he was accosted by three men who robbed him of a gold chain, two diamond rings, two ATM cards and cash.


A police sub-inspector, who was also a resident at the apartments, heard the noise and came out.
When he tried to chase down the three men, they abandoned their scooter (KA 01 AC 6519) and fled. A case has been registered at Chandra Layout Police Station.
