<p>The Police on Monday arrested Bimal Agarwal, director of Techno Trade Impex, on charges the of supplying bomb suits of inferior quality to Maharashtra Police.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Agarwal was arrested soon after the Sessions Court rejected his anticipatory bail plea in which he argued that he was being implicated at the behest of former Principal Secretary (Home) P K Jain. The Economic Offences Wing of police registered a case of cheating and forgery against Agarwal on May 13. The state police had floated tenders for the purchase of high-grade bomb suits as the safety gears in use seemed outdated after the 26/11 attacks.<br /> <br />His company won the bid and agreed to supply 80 suits at a cost of Rs 6 crore. However, the assessment of the suits revealed that a batch of them were sub-standard and had forged tags on them. Agarwal moved the Bombay High Court challenging the assessment.<br /></p>
