To prevent mosquito breeding in water bodies along the railway tracks, South Delhi Municipal Corporation mayor Savita Gupta on Saturday flagged off ‘Mosquito Terminator’, a truck carrying insecitide from New Delhi railway station.
“It is actually a truck mounted power sprayer that SDMC has given to Railways and will spray larvicide named Temephos EC-50 in water bodies around railway tracks to prevent mosquito breeding. SDMC and Railways will take this truck around on a special wagon for fogging and control of dengue,” said a municipal official.
It will pass through Sadar Bazar, Kishanganj, Sarai Rohilla, Nizamuddin, Lajpat Nagar, Safadarjang, Patel Nagar.
