A class 11 student was allegedly forced into a car and then raped in the moving vehicle in north-west Delhi’s Rani Bagh area earlier this month by two youths known to her.

Three youths have been arrested. The victim is the 16-year-old daughter of a Delhi Police head constable.

She alleged that the assault followed an incident on August 18 in which nine youths misbehaved with her at Prashant Vihar market where she had gone to recharge her mobile phone.

The girl called her two friends — Honey Singh and Chirag – to the spot for help. They arrived there in Honey’s car. Honey and Chirag objected to the misbehaviour, following which an argument broke out.

The girl got into Honey’s car and three of them left for Pitampura village. However, according to the victim, the youths followed them in their own car to Pitampura village.

“When the three came out of their vehicle, the youths bashed up Honey and Chirag and robbed them of their cash. During the melee, two youths — Gandharva alias Roly and Deepak — forcibly pushed the girl inside Honey’s car and left the place,” said a senior police official,  quoting the victim’s complaint.

Gandharva  allegedly raped the girl in the moving car. Deepak attempted rape but stopped when another friend Ankit warned him that police might arrest them.

“They later dumped the girl outside Prashant Vihar police station,” the official said.
Honey and Chirag were forced into another car by the other members of the group. They too were later dropped outside Prashant Vihar police station, from where they called up police control room.

On the basis of the victim’s complaint, three youths, identified as Gandharva, and his friends Anmol and Kushal Pahwa, have been arrested. Deepak and five others are absconding.
