Last Updated 01 September 2012, 18:57 IST

The admissions to the private and aided educational institutions including pre university colleges should be done in accordance with the seat matrix and reservation rules, Deputy Commissioner D S Vishwanath said.

He also warned colleges against demanding donations.

He was speaking at a meeting of the District Education Monitoring Committee about the transfer of Karnatala education institutions and rules.

He informed that the first list of students selected on merit basis should be produced before June 4. The second list should be produced after three days followed by the third list.

A student, who has scored more marks but not been selected, should be prefered to the last student on the final list.

Able students should not be excluded from the list, he said. The list of students should be updated on the website on a day to day basis, he said.

Complaints may be registered with the Education Monitoring Committee formed under the aegis of the Deputy Commissioner.

Speaking on the performance of the Pre University results he said that the district has been in the 21st position for the past three years which is a matter of serious concern.

Efforts should be made to bring the District to the tenth position in the coming year. He stressed the need to implement strict laws in educational institutions.
