A yogi is one who is proficient in that depth of consciousness which is the basis of all existence.

Once you gain the secret of life then nothing else appears to tempt you. You feel you have attained the highest and you don’t worry about more gains.

Our feverishness is about gaining something more - either material or spiritual. That wanting to get something more keeps you on run. But when you are established in this consciousness, in meditation and yoga then you find that no misery or problems touch you. It can’t shake you because you are well established with a strong sense of stability and rooted-ness in life.

It is alright to be angry but the anger should not stay in you longer than you draw a line on the surface of water. If your anger is only that much, then it is healthy. But if it lingers on in your head, more than 10 minutes, more than a day, years or months then, there is serious work to be done.

A yogi does not get blown away by gains and losses or by any such untoward things. Like an expert in any field is not perturbed by events that happen around him or her. A yogi walks with ease, embracing any field in life because, life itself, has become proficient and efficient in the skill. This is because you are attending to the root of life which is spirituality.

If you are well-versed in this, you feel at home in any field you come across because then your intuition works.

You can fix things, that you really don’t know, due to the spiritual connection you have. For example, some one who is learning driving with an L board in the car, will notice every stone and is very conscious about every vehicle. Similarly, if you are not a cook then the first time you enter a kitchen, you will look at the cook-book, be anxious about what you will make, how you should make. But imagine a field in which you are proficient, how do you walk in that field? Easily and with confidence. A yogi can consciously can live that state. He/she is centered all the time. Inspite of being with everybody in the world, there is steadiness in the mind, and it is not an effort. When you get centered there is a pleasure that dawns deep within you that can be captured by your intellect, not through the senses. Sometimes, in a relationship before a physical relationship breaks down, the intellectual or emotional relationship breaks down.

Intellectual compatibility comes, stays for sometime and starts disappearing. When you make a new friend then there is lot of jokes, lot of fun, lot of enthusiasm, because the intellect is fully engaging itself. After a while, you seem to know the person, then you stop having fun; then you feel, that somewhere you are retrieving.

Then you find “Oh life is boredom”. That type of intellectual pleasure which you are seeking is going to come when you are reposing and steady in the being. You are the source of joy. But you are looking at others and trying to get joy out of them. When you know that you are the source of joy, you don’t expect someone to give you joy; you will start giving joy. Yoga comes by reposing in the self and relaxing.

And that gives you so much joy, extreme sense of happiness. The mind of such a person is like a lamp. In a place where there is no wind, the flame is steady and spreads light equally in all directions. You might have had this experience, at some point of your life when your mind is absolutely like a laser beam, so focused, so solid, your intentions get manifested.

Base your life on wisdom, on yoga. Something that is non-changing. There is a path in you that does not change or die. Hook on to that which does not change within you and become stable.
