Mobile crane's dismal performance irks consumer

R Venkatesh of Girinagar complained to this forum that the mobile crane he bought from Omega Construction Equipment came with a long line of defects: two tires damaged, the winch plate removed, rear side scratched, radiator cover spoilt, brake unit problems, sound problems and much more. To add to his woes the 14 ton crane gave very low performance. The Forum President found Omega Construction guilty of deficient service and has ordered it to repair the crane and pay up Rs 5,000 as compensation to R Venkatesh.

Vinod C, a newly married, had sent chocolates and birthday greetings to his wife when she went to their family home in Kerala. But the birthday gifts sent through the courier Professional Couriers vanished and has never been found! This forum has ordered the courier to pay up Rs 1,210 to the consumer.

The II Additional district consumer disputes redressal forum has ordered an investment company to pay back Rs 5,00,000 to a consumer with 15 per cent interest. David Anthony Isaac had paid up this amount to Frontline Inc. as an investment and was promised 10 per cent interest on it every month for 12 months. She got the interest for one month after which the firm vanished, having cheated several other consumers in the same manner. Police complaints have been filed by all the consumers who lost their money in this venture. The M.D. and other Directors are still missing.
