Two security guards met a tragic end in the last 24 hours in two separate incidents in the City. The body of Thomas Thali, 26, was found floating in a lake at Palace Grounds in the City Sunday morning.
Thali, who was from Arunachal Pradesh and a resident of JC Nagar, had gone to the lake for swimming in the morning. When he did not return by evening, his relative Kabu Thamin lodged a complaint with the High Grounds police. Thali’s belongings were found on the lake bed and his body was found floating later, the police said.
A private bus knocked down Hanumantappa, 55, when he was crossing the road in Wilson Garden Sunday morning.
He was a resident of Siddapura and was working in a private school as security guard.
The Wilson Garden traffic police have arrested the driver and seized the bus.
Carpenter dies in mishap
A speeding bike allegedly knocked down a 32-year-old carpenter on Inner Ring Road near Domlur, Saturday night.
Arvind Sharma from Bihar, a resident of Chamarajpet, was trying to cross the road along with his friend Irshad when the bike hit him.
Sharma was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead. The Ulsoor traffic police have identified the two-wheeler rider as Srinivas based on the documents recovered at the accident spot.
