A construction worker died after he fell from the second floor of a building under construction adjacent to his rented house at Babusapalya near Hennur on Thursday.

Khwaja Ali, 58, from Nellore district in Andhra Pradesh, stayed alone in the room he rented. The police said he attempted to jump off the adjacent building onto the roof to enter the house, as he had lost his house key. His neighbours said that he had entered the house in the same way on a previous occasion. However, this time, Ali probably miscalculated the distance and jumped. He fell nearly 14 meters down to the ground and died on the spot, the police added.

A case of unnatural death has been registered at Hennur police station.
