India team reshuffled its doubles combination on Wednesday bringing in Divij Sharan in place of debutant Saketh Myneni for the Davis Cup tie against the New Zealand.

Team captain SP Misra had earlier decided on Saketh and Vishnu Vardhan for the doubles rubber but changed his mind keeping in mind the “concerns of the players”.

Sharan had reached the final of the Shanghai Challenger with Yuki Bhambri before coming for the Davis Cup tie here.

Sharan will now be tried with either Vishnu or Yuki. “I had sounded confident about Saketh and Vishnu yesterday. But we have to keep the concerns of players in mind. Sharan is as good a player. He is compatible with both Vishnu and Yuki and has done well with both. The decision has been made in the best interest of the tie,” Misra said.
The draw for the tie will take place on Thursday.
