Two die in road accidents

Two men were killed in two separate accidents in the City late Friday night. A youth who was visiting the City from Bhadravati was run over by a speeding car near Naganapura junction on Friday.

Manjunath, 28, employed as a labourer in a rice mill at Bhadravati, had come to the City a few days ago to see his relatives. He had to visit a friend’s house in Chikkatoguru on Friday evening and was returning home when the accident occurred.

Hit by a speeding car as he attempted to cross Naganapura junction, Manjunath sustained severe head injuries.  He was immediately rushed to a nearby private hospital, but succumbed to injuries late in the night.

Electronic City Traffic Police have registered a case and arrested the driver, Kuria Kose, a software engineer employed in a prominent IT firm in the City.

In another accident, an unidentified vehicle collided with a two-wheeler, killing one person and seriously injuring another on Hoskote Main Road on Friday night.

Srinivasa Rao, 50, an electrician and his pillon rider, Mahesh, 25, were thrown to the side of the road in the accident. Though they were rushed to a hospital, Rao was declared brought dead.

Mahesh is being treated in the hospital, police said. KR Puram traffic police have registered a case.
