JOIN USDasara: Theme for tableaus finalised
Deputy chief minister and revenue minister K S Eshwarappa chaired a meeting held with deputy commissioners and zilla panchayat CEOs of all districts to discuss the theme of tableaus for Dasara procession.
The theme for the Dasara tableaus would be based on lifestyle of tribal settlements, festivals, folklore, history of the ‘naada habba’ and dance. The meeting organised via videoconference also included medical education and Mysore district in-charge minister S A Ramdas.
Speaking on the occasion, Eshwarappa said Rs 10 crore has already been allocated for Dasara in the budget. While Rs six crore has already been released, each district would receive Rs five lakh for tableaus.
Nodal officers would arrive in the city on September 30 and finalise the list of troupes and tableaus participating in the festival. Special security arrangements would also be made during Dasara.
