<p>JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda on Friday urged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to reconsider his ruling directing Karnataka to release 9,000 cusec of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu.<br /><br /></p>.<p>He said as the Chairperson of the Cauvery River Authority (CRA), the Prime Minister should depute teams for an on-the-spot assessment of water storage level in both the states. An appropriate ruling should then be given on the basis of the assessment, he added. <br />Moreover, he should have deputed officials from the Ministry of Water Resources to check the ground reality before convening the CRA meeting, Gowda said.<br /><br />Instead, he only convened a meeting and also issued a direction to Karnataka in the absence of any data, he said.<br /></p>
