Former legislator G T Deve Gowda on Monday said the Karnataka State Co-operative Federation which he heads would oppose multi-brand FDI in retail.
Gowda, who was re-elected to the federation recently, said the entry of multi-brand FDI into retail would be detrimental to the cooperative movement.
He is also the chairman of Karnataka Housing Board. Even his party BJP is opposed to FDI.
He urged the government not to allow FDI in retail in the State.
