Five persons have been arrested for opening fire on a man when their plan to grab a plot at Dwarka in south-west Delhi was busted, police said on Saturday. The accused have been identified as Karamvir, Manoj, Rajender Sharma, Ajay Tripathi and Jai Bhagwan.

They were held over a complaint by Suman Kumar, a resident of Uttam Nagar, at Dwarka (north) police station.

“He stated that two persons came to his house in Kakrola on September 12, and showed documents related to a plot and intimated that they have purchased it for Rs 9.20 lakh,” said Anil Kumar Ojha, additional commissioner of police (south-west).
They left after having an argument with Suman, but returned in the evening to discuss the matter again.

During the discussion, they became furious and started beating Suman.
“They subsequently opened fire in which a bullet pierced through Suman’s left leg,” Ojha added.

On September 13, police received a tip-off regarding Rajender’s involvement. Immediately, a trap was laid at Ranikhera and Rajender was nabbed.
Rajender told police that Kirshan alias Sunda, Manoj and Rajkumar, all residents of Ranikhera, were behind the scene to grab the plot.

“These persons have close links in Jhajjar and Rohtak districts of Haryana with people who grab disputed plots in Haryana and Delhi,” Ojha added. In this case, Rajender came in touch with Kirshan through another accused, Rajkumar, who lured him into the deal to earn quick money.

Kirshan and other accused persons arranged fake documents of the property in Rajender’s name through a local property dealer named Anand, who has his office near the plot.

“Kirshan along with Karamvir, Rajkumar, Amarjeet, Rajender and others reached the plot and fired on the complainant,” Ojha said.Efforts are being made to trace the other accused.
