The also had an intense workout at the academy’s gym as coach Ray Jennings, newly-appointed trainer S Basu and physio Muthu Kumar kept a close watch on the proceedings. 

The camp is expected gain momentum by Monday with the arrival Karnataka contingent on Friday while the rest of the squad is likely to land during the weekend.

The Bangalore side will also have practice matches from Monday with Cape Cobras, Trinidad and Tobago and a KSCA XI at the Chinnaswamy Stadium and the Jain International Residential Ground. Meanwhile, Left-arm paceman Irfan Pathan began his second rehabilitation stint at the NCA after his knee injury forced him out of the Irani Cup match in Nagpur. 

The Baroda bowler, who reported to physio Paul Close and strengthening and conditioning coach Paul Chapman here on Thursday, has had a one-week stint earlier at the academy in September.
