JOIN USThe placement season is here and students are gearing up for the selection process. While some colleges have already started with the placement process, others are yet to begin.
The final-year engineering students of BMS College of Engineering have already kicked off their placements and are expecting a good success rate. “We had started preparing for it some time ago, so that we wouldn’t need to rush at the last minute. Many companies have come this year, and the placements have been very good for streams like computer science and information science. We are sure that all of us will definitely get placed,” says Aditya Punjani, a final-year student.
He adds that some companies have recruited students in bulk. Some students feel that those who are studying IT or computer science have an edge over those pursuing mechanical engineering, when it comes to this year’s placement. “Many IT companies are coming for placement this year, but there are less mechanical companies coming in. I am still waiting for a better mechanical company to come. We had a three-day placement training programme, conducted by the college, where some human resource professionals came to train us,” explains Pranav Jai, a final-year student of the college.
He adds, “We have placement throughout the fourth year and the companies keep coming as and when they require. They inform us earlier, so that we prepare for the interview.”
Akhila Krishnamurthi, who has already been placed with an IT company, is thrilled. She says that she feels brilliant that her three years of hard work have paid off. “My parents are very happy and I too am relieved that the tension is over. The placements have been very good this year. Most companies have come with a good package and students are getting placed almost every alternative day,” says Akhila.
For now, the final-year students are preparing for the recruiters who are yet to come.
