If you are keen on learning the nuances of Kannada language, here is an opportunity to brush up your skills at home.

The directorate of Kannada and culture, in association with the Central Institute of Indian Languages (CIIL), Mysore, has extended Kannada coaching classes through post. The programme launched on November 1, 1985, is being conducted for a period of one year for government employees, who didn’t have knowledge of the language.

The course now extended for the benefit of the general public will be launched on November 1 Kannada Rajyotsava day. Interested candidates who have completed SSLC, in the age group of 18 to 50 years are eligible for the course. The application should be enclosed with a demand draft for Rs 250. A total of 20 notes will be given to the candidates and exams will be conducted during the end of coaching and contact classes.

For details and application format, interested may post a self-addressed envelope with a stamp of Rs five to the following address; In-charge officer, postal education programme in Kannada, Central Institute of Indian Languages (CIIL), Manasagangotri, Mysore- 570006.
The last date for submitting applications is October 31, said a press release.
