Ritu claims double crown

Ritu, who has been in commanding form throughout the competition, thumped third-seeded Gunaganti Urmila 9-3 in the girls’ under-16 final after rains played havoc with the schedule. The KIMS’ trainee then rounded off an impressive day with a 9-1 demolition of Sweatha Samuel to claim the under-14 crown.

While Ritu didn't have to break much sweat, Rohan was made to toil hard but the second-seed held his composure to edge out Vishnu P Rajesh 9-8 in the boys’ under-16 final.

Adwaith Patnaik clinched the boys’ under-14 title after outclassing Anthony Savio 9-3.

Boys: U-16, final: Rohan Goankar bt Vishnu P Rajesh 9-8. Semifinal: Vishnu bt Nikhil Reddy 9-8; Rohan Goankar bt Harsha Manjunath 9-1.
U-14, final: Adwaith Patnaik bt Anthony Savio 9-3.
Girls: U-16, final: SP Ritu bt Gunaganti Urmila 9-3.
Semifinals: Ritu bt Sweatha Samuel 9-4; Gunaganti w/o Simran Kaur Sethi.
U-14, final: SP Ritu bt Sweatha Samuel 9-1.
Semifinals: Ritu bt Gunaganti Urmila 9-4; Sweatha Samuel bt Praneetha CS 9-4.
