JOIN USA Kannada TV actress died after she took ill on Tuesday night. Hemashree, 33, was on her way to Anantapur in Andhra Pradesh, along with her husband Surendra Babu, to attend a family function.
Babu claimed he rushed her back to Bangalore when she developed health complications. Hemashree was declared brought dead at the Baptist Hospital.
The police have been informed and the autopsy would be conducted on Wednesday. A senior police officer denied reports that Babu was detained on suspicion of foul play. Hebbal police confirmed that no complaint had been registered. However, the officer said the couple had a strained marriage and that the women’s face bore marks of injury.
“We are yet to establish the cause of death. Only then can we comment,” officer said.
Child artiste
Hemashree started as a child actress and went on to act in films like ‘Sirivantha’. She contested for the Assembly elections as a JD(S) candidate in 2008 and lost.
After marrying Babu, Hemashree complained to police that Babu was married before he tied the knot with her.
