<p>A security guard attached to the National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI) in Adugodi, was found bludgeoned to death on the Institute campus in the early hours of Tuesday.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Police gave the name of the victim as Nelson Noronah, 55, a native of Assam. He was working with a private security agency in Vijayanagar. Noronah had been posted at the NDRI for over two years. <br /><br />Consumed alcohol<br /><br />Police sources said on Monday night, some security guards of the institute had allegedly consumed alcohol. A verbal duel ensued between Noronah and others, which might have escalated into a brawl and the other guards might have bludgeoned him to death, the police suspect.<br /><br />Eight other security guards posted on the campus of NDRI on Monday night have been detained by the police and their interrogation is in progress. <br /><br />A case has been registered at the Adugodi police station.</p>
