JOIN USA security guard attached to the National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI) in Adugodi, was found bludgeoned to death on the Institute campus in the early hours of Tuesday.
Police gave the name of the victim as Nelson Noronah, 55, a native of Assam. He was working with a private security agency in Vijayanagar. Noronah had been posted at the NDRI for over two years.
Consumed alcohol
Police sources said on Monday night, some security guards of the institute had allegedly consumed alcohol. A verbal duel ensued between Noronah and others, which might have escalated into a brawl and the other guards might have bludgeoned him to death, the police suspect.
Eight other security guards posted on the campus of NDRI on Monday night have been detained by the police and their interrogation is in progress.
A case has been registered at the Adugodi police station.
