The Karnataka Sangeetha Nritya Academy on Thursday, announced special category and annual awards for the 2011-12 and 2012-13.
Awardees for the year 2011-12 are: (Special category) Hindustani singer Lalitha G Rao and gamaka artiste Channakeshava Shastry.
(Carnatic) G S Kamala and G S Rajalakshmi, Shantalakshmi Nagendranath, Sumasudheendra and C Cheluvaraj; (Hindustani) H R Badiger, Jayasri Ramesh Patnakar and Kashiram Sahab Jamadar; (Dance) Meenal Prabhu, Sujatha Rajgopal, Nayana S More, Kanakaraj; (Light music) Sulabadath Neeralagi, S L Venugopal; (Katha Keerthana) G R Keshavamurthy; (Gamaka) K B Hemavathamma and Kankirana Institute.
Awardees for the year 2012-13, awardees are: (Special category) B V Narayan Ital for Carnatic music and Kamal Rajiv Purandare for light music.
(Carnatic) T S Satyavathi, K V Raghavendra Rao, H K Narasimhamurthy; (Hindustani) Shyama Alur, Virupakshaswamy, Shivanna Desai Kallur, Rachaiah Hiremut; (Dance) Chandrashekara Navada, Ramakrishna Bhat, Rashmi Hegde Gopi and S Natarajamurthy; (Light music) Kikkeri Krishnamurthy, M Totappa Uttangi; (Katha Keerthana) Siddeshwara Shastry, Sunanda; (Horanadu Kannadiga) Uma Nagabhushan.

The awards will be given away on November 24 at a function to be organised at Ravindra Kalakshetra in Bangalore.
While the special award carries a cash prize of Rs 10,000, annual award carries Rs 10,000 cash prize, Academy chairperson Vyjayanti Kashi said.
