Girl raped by batch-mate

A 19-year-old final year diploma engineering student was allegedly raped by her batch-mate in Baiyappanahalli police limits, recently.

Based on a complaint by the victim’s father, the police arrested the boy, a final year diploma student at SET College in Kaggadasapura, on Tuesday. In the complaint, it is stated that the boy took the victim to his room in Kaggadasapura where she was raped.

Police said the victim’s sister stays in Sudhamanagar and the boy was a frequent visitor to the area. They got to know each other and became friends.

On Sunday night, the girl went to his room on the pretext of completing a project work and returned home Monday morning. When her parents questioned her why she did not return the previous night, she told them that she was raped.
