<p>The State has increased the dearness allowance (DA) by four per cent of the basic salary to all its employees. The increased DA is effective from July 1, 2012.<br /><br /></p>.<p> The Central government had in September increased the DA to its employees by 7 per cent, with effect from July 1. <br /><br />According to Karnataka State Government Employees’ Association President L Byrappa the government should have increased the DA by 4.23 per cent. <br /><br />The rise will result in salary going up by at least Rs 370 a month for those whose basic salary is Rs 9,600, he said.<br /></p>
