Mazurier released from prison

Pascal Mazurier, Consular Attaché to the Consulate General of France, Bangalore, who was granted conditional bail by the High Court of Karnataka on Wednesday, was released from the Parappana Agrahara prison at 7.30 pm on Thursday.

Mazurier was arrested on June 19, following a complaint by his wife alleging that he had raped their three-year-old daughter.

Later, in a statement to the media, Pascal said: “I thank the Indian Judiciary for granting me bail. I have the greatest belief in the Judicial system and I’ll remain at the disposal of the authorities until the end of the procedure.

I have always claimed my innocence and I’m confident the truth will come out.”
