The Sandur Judicial Magistrate First Class court on Friday issued non-bailable warrant to legislator G Somashekhar Reddy and member of Bellary City Municipal Council Diwakar for threatening the life of senior forest officer U V Singh.
Reddy, who is also the chairperson of Karnataka Milk Federation, and Diwakar allegedly threatened to kill Singh during his visit to Ramgad forest areas as part of the Lokayukta investigation into illegal mining operations on September 12, 2009.
They allegedly called Honnurappa, who accompanied the forest officer during the
inspection, and threatened him.
On October 3, police arrested 14 people in connection with the incident and filed a charge sheet.
The court has posted the hearing to November 13 and issued summons to Reddy and Diwakar.
