CPM Maoist group Coastal unit member Kamala speaking to Deccan Herald reporter from her mobile phone (9480402586) on Saturday at around 4.30 pm, said that the instances of arrest and attrocities on tribals and Dalits have been increased after the elections.
“Police create an atmosphere of fear among people by arresting innocents. Office bearers of Adivasi Girijana Hitharakshana Samiti were taken into custody without any reason. It has been understood that they (police) are trying to suppress Samiti’s ongoing fight against the evacuation of inhabitants from Kudremukha forests,” she said. She demanded the government to stop the unnecessary arrests and attrocities. “ Withdraw ANF from the region,” she demanded.
