Sahitya Academies are must for the growth of literature and language, said Assembly Speaker K G Bopaiah.
Speaking after inaugurating the office of Are Bhashe Sahithya mathu Samskrithi Academy, at Gandhi Maidan in Madikeri on Wednesday, he said the State government has sanctioned Rs 50 lakh to all the academies.
Kodava and Are Bhashe Academy should organise the programmes jointly.
The State government has already released Rs 107 lakh for the construction of Suvarna Samucchaya Bhavana in Madikeri. Once the complex is ready, then the office of Kodava and Are Bashe Academies can be shifted. Minister for Youth Services and Sports Appachu Ranjan alsos poke.
Are Bhashe Sahithya mathu Samskrithi Academy President N S Deviprasad, Kodava Sahitya Academy President Addanda C Cariappa, Tulu Academy President Umanath Kotian and Beary Academy President Rahim Ucchil was present.
