A six-member team of Justice M B Shah Commission, probing into the irregularities in the mining sector in different mineral-rich states in the country, arrived here on Wednesday afternoon.

This is the commission’s third trip to the eastern state. An eight-member team headed by the chairman of the commission Justice Shah himself had visited the state for the first time in December last year which was followed by another visit by a six-member team early October this year. Official sources said during the current trip, the team would make spot visits to mining areas of two mineral-rich and tribal-dominated districts of Keonjhar and Sundergarh on Thursday and Friday. Subsequently, the team members would go thorough mines-related official papers and documents at its camp office in the state guest house here from Saturday. The team is scheduled to end its current visit on November 11.
