True to its name ‘The best of jewels’ exhibition has a range of dazzling jewellery on display at the Chamundi Vihar Indoor Stadium in the city. The exhibition open from November 2 to 5 had a large number of people visiting the expo to catch a glimpse of platinum, diamond, gold and silver jewellery.

Among the jewels on display is a 13 carat and 42 cent diamond necklace by Sudarshan and Sons worth Rs 1.3 crore. Made of Belgium diamonds, the diamond at the centre is 2.5 carat and the one at the back is 30 cents.

Another attraction is the silver mantap weighing 70 kg worth more than Rs 50 lakh and six deepalekambas worth Rs 12 lakh displayed by Navrathan. A Rs 22 lakh worth Lakshmi idol adorns the silver mantap.

Speaking to Deccan Herald, partner of A Shankara Chetty and sons, Adarsh K Murthy said the highlight of their stall is the men’s jewellery. He said they have on offer a basic suitcase set comprising bracelets, belts, cufflinks, spectacles, pens and watches at a cost of Rs two to Rs three lakh for the bridegroom. He said those familiar with the basic suitcase of gold accessories are quite satisfied with the products on offer for men.

Thulasi and Thulasi Venkatachala Setty jewellers have antique jewellery on display including a 20 kg idol of Goddess Chamundeswari.

Apart from jewellery stalls, Safe City Security Systems is showcasing high resolution CCTVs, metal detectors, biometric door locks, access control and time attendance systems to safeguard jewels. It also has Guard monitoring system and boom barriers and electronic gates.
