No internal dialogue in Cong: Khare

Last Updated 02 November 2012, 19:46 IST

Senior journalist Harish Khare has said internal dialogue that was prevalent in the Congress before 1947 had been absent in the decades after Independence.

Speaking after the release of a  book “Congress After Indira”, written by Zoya Hasan,
professor at Jawaharlal Nehru University and published by the Oxford University Press, he said internal communication had been missing in the party despite the emergence of the new  organisational culture and new generation of leaders after Independence.

Khare, who was media advisor to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh,  said: “There is a general tendency among the partymen to attribute greatness to Nehru-Gandhi family and put all the blame on non-family leaders.”

He was of the opinion that there was enormous failure of the government on the economic front.
