Aeromexico to buy up to 90 Boeing aircraft

Aeromexico has announced that it has signed a contract with Boeing to buy up to 90 of the firm's 737 MAX aircraft.

Of the 90 aircraft covered in the contract, 60 units will definitely be bought and the purchase of the remaining 30 will be subject to reconfirmation by Grupo Aeromexico, the airline said.
Aeromexico earlier said that it had the intention to spend $11 billion for 90 of the planes and 10 wide-bodied Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners.

Boeing reported from Seattle that the 90 737 MAX jets have a total list price of more than $6 billion.

Aeromexico said that the 737 MAX has a cabin that offers greater comfort and technology to passengers and significantly reduces the cost of fuel and maintenance, among other advantages.

Aeromexico is the leader in the Mexican air travel market and last year transported 14 million passengers. It operates 600 flights a day to 45 domestic and 32 international destinations in the US, Canada, Central and South America, as well as to Europe and Asia.
