A little something to snack on

Last Updated 09 November 2012, 14:46 IST

If you’re ever near the M S Ramaiah campus and have time to spare, stop by at ‘Little Bites’, a small joint frequented by college students and priced to fit their budgets. Started exactly a year ago, the place is primarily a college hub, though often visited by professionals and families as well.

One can go for a wide variety of sandwiches, burgers, soups, cutlets and sundaes that go well with their shakes, smoothies, frappes and sodas. In fact, the only thing that a customer can complain about is the fact that there are just too many options to set your mind on one dish.

“The most popular items are our sandwiches, which are served in a variety of breads like garlic bread, submarine bread, brown bread, white bread and whole-wheat bread. Other dishes that do well are pastas, burgers, smoothies, cold coffee, shakes and sundaes,” informs the owner, Rayees.

“Our items are special as the products are designed according to the need and taste of our customers. In fact, we have developed unique recipes and even encourage our customers to customise their orders,” he adds.

The prices are very affordable as well. The much sought-after Venky’s chicken burger costs Rs 45, while the vegetarian one costs Rs 30. The chocolate fudge sundae at Rs 30 is a must try along with any of the shakes that cost Rs 25 — strawberry, litchi, rose, vanilla or pistachio among others.  For the health-conscious folks, a glass of cold milk, hot chocolate or dry-fruit and nut milk shake in the ‘Health Classics’ section should do the trick.

There’s also a large range of sandwiches to choose from. In vegetarian, the paneer korma, fruit sandwich or Russian salad ones are quite interesting. For non-vegetarians, the chicken junglee sandwich and egg double-decker club sandwich are worth a try.

“‘Little Bites’ works on providing quality food and beverage experiences at affordable prices. To anyone who comes here, I’d recommend the chicken mayo sandwich in the non-vegetarian menu and the paneer cheese sandwich in vegetarian,” concludes Rayees.
