Two brothers were thrashed by three to four persons outside their house at Okhla on Thursday night when they protested against slightly denting their car.

The assailants also fired two rounds in the air before fleeing, said a police officer.
Elder brother Khan Babar Saeed, 32, an engineer, said he was at an ATM in Okhla Vihar around 11.30 pm when his  brother, Khan Moid Hasan, called him to say one of his neighbours had brushed past his parked car. When Hasan objected to this, they started abusing him.

Saeed then went to the house of neighbour Mohammad Naeem to inquire, over which Naeem started abusing him. Naeem’s brother then called three of his friends and they beat up Saeed and Hasan.

“They hit us with a baton and we fell to the ground. When people in the neighbourhood came to help, they fired two rounds in the air to disperse the crowd,” said Saeed.

Police took the injured to AIIMS. “They were discharged after first aid. We have filed a complaint over the incident,” said the officer. Police found the two spent bullets near the victims’ house, and lodged an FIR.
