‘Pryda’ is a three-disc album of a dozen tracks each with three hours of smooth-as-silk music. If you like trance, then you will like this album mixed by Eric Prydz, a Swedish DJ and producer based in London.

The first disc comprises unreleased cuts and ‘works in progress’, an assortment of various style and tempos of house music. The other two discs are retrospective DJ mixes. Some interesting tracks are Hardrock Lausanne, which integrates electro and sci-fi-esque sounds, and Leja, with its interesting synths and funk. Allein is an incredible production work guaranteed to make dance floors hyper and touch your heart at the same time.

Sunburst is arguably the most powerful track on this disc with deep progressive bass lines, hot synth melodies and subtle psychedelic sounds. The final track on disc 1, Pjanoo, builds into a massive spine-tingling finish. In Disc 2, Miami to Atlanta has heavy electro epic hooks over hard-hitting lows and Rakfunk has funky synth work over some deep, electro bass. Aftermath has 14 minutes of intense EDM (electro-dance music) across the spectrum, while Armed–Building had teeth-gritting synth blending perfectly with some formidable bass. Paolo Mojo has 11 minutes of fiery mids, heated synths and hard bass. In Disc 3, Juletider has driving bass, heavy claps and progressive synth work. 2Night is one of his most famous tracks and in this version, it emphasises the synths and comes out as a progressive masterpiece. In With Me, a famous synth line comes together with some booming bass. Melo with a gentle bass and an impassioned synth line gives this song incredible punch.

With a decade in dance music, the prolific Eric Prydz is now in the same league as Tiesto and David Guetta. He is not a show-off churning bizarre sounds, but is only perfecting a sound with which he is good and comfortable, perfecting it for a decade.
