Doctors allege bias in Rajyotsava awards

Last Updated 15 November 2012, 20:09 IST

The Karnataka Health Care Associations’ Federation (KHCAF) has criticised the State government for ignoring doctors while presenting Rajyotsava awards.

Addressing mediapersons here on Thursday, Dr G K Ramachandrappa, president of the Federation, alleged that the government ignored people in the noble profession and selected mainly those who were in the field of art or have political allegiance.

“The healthcare profession, which is one of the oldest, has been wholly responsible for ensuring a healthy community. But the government ignored the contributions of the doctors this year,” said Dr Ramachandrappa.

He said the Karnataka chapter of Indian Medical Association, AYUSH Federation of India and other organisations of medical field are unhappy with the government.
