Hunt for the best voice

Kunal Ganjawalla, the well-known playback singer of Bollywood, will be the chief judge at the finals of the Voice of Bangalore Season 3. Yograj Bhat and Mano Murthy, stalwarts of the Kannada music industry, will grace the occasion and join Kunal in selecting the winners at the finale on October 10, 6 pm onwards at the Garuda Mall.

It’s the third successive year that Garuda Mall is conducting the event. It's a perfect platform to encourage talents and bring together the best voices of Bangalore. In fact, it would be the launching pad to a great musical career. At the semi-finals held at Garuda Mall on Oct 2, six people emerged winners out of the 10 contestants. They are Vyasaraja, Samsheer,Vikas V, Sahana R, Suvarna Rathod and Akanksha Badami.

Judges for the semi-finals were playback singer Manjula Gururaj, music director Arjun and Anirudh, who is a singer and actor. “This year, 6,000 plus participants have taken part at the different venues like colleges, corporate houses and at the Garuda Swagath Mall. We are now down to the last six, who are the best of the lot fighting for the coveted title. Out of the three girls and three boys (finalists), one each will walk away as Voice of Bangalore,” says B G Uday, MD, Garuda group.

At the semi-finals, music director Arjun, who was a judge, was so impressed by a contestant’s performance that he immediately offered her a chance to sing his next composition. The winners get a Maruti A Star Car, diamonds, branded merchandise and the
coveted title of Voice of Bangalore.
