A day after the Bharatiya Janata Party senior leader Yashwant Sinha demanded resignation of Nitin Gadkari from national president’s post, amidst allegations of accepting dubious fundings for his companies, Gadkari on Wednesday gave no sign of obliging Sinha.

He claimed that he was clean and is ready to face probe by any agency. “We have no fear of investigation as we have done no wrong. It is a conspiracy to defame us. I want to assure you that we will not be deterred by such malicious campaign,” Gadkari defended himself while addressing party’s protest rally at Jantar Mantar against corruption, price rise and introduction of FDI in retail.

Gadkari said while Aamir Azmal Kasab is hanged after a great delay, the government has failed to hang Afzal Guru accused in parliament attack.

“The crime of Afzal Guru is more serious than Azmal Kasab since he attacked the seat of our democracy. However, the government is saving him for vote politics,” accused the president.
He raised question on the manner in which the Congress government is anxious to introduce FDI in retail. “Are not the industrialists and traders of India capable of taking the country forward that we require foreigners to come here? The country wants answer to this question,” said Gadkari.

Thousands of BJP workers and leaders gathered for protest and later courted arrest while marching from Parliament Street to Prime Minister’s residence.
