State BJP Unit Vice-president and MLC M B Bhanuprakash clarified that Shimoga MP B Y Raghavendra, son of former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa, has not been invited to take part in the protest rally “Congress Hatao-Desh Bachao,” organised by the BJP City Unit against the UPA government. The rally is scheduled in the City on November 23.

Speaking with mediapersons here on Thursday, he said the MP is not invited as he is scheduled to take part in the on-going Parliament session. However, State BJP Unit President K S Eshwarappa, Rajya Sabha member Ayanur

Manjunath, Canara MP Ananthkumar Hegde and other State leaders will take part in the rally.

Raghavendra said: “I am not invited to take part in the rally. However, I will stay in Shimoga for two days. I will leave for New Delhi on November 26. There is no point in defending their stand in the name of Parliament session, as other MPs Ayanur Manjunath, Ananthkumar Hegde have been invited for the rally. I am still a member of the BJP and they could have invited me as per the protocol rules.”
