An occasion of pride

Founders Day

The BNM Educational Institutions recently held its founder’s day and all the institutions under the umbrella group came together to celebrate.

Each was felicitated for the various achievements of its students. The students of BNMIT were particularly enthusiastic about the affair.

They presented a dance performance depicting the various seasons in a year. The choreography and lighting was all done by the students themselves.

The dance beautifully portrayed all the seasons — especially the monsoon, which was depicted in a wonderful manner.

Nisarga, an engineering student and the founder of the dance team Mayuri, says, “I passed out from the institute this June — and yet, today, the organisation invited me to perform a dance for the founder’s day because I am the founder of this team. This is the kind of belongingness that one feels with the institution. I have thoroughly enjoyed my journey here. And I feel very happy that the institution acknowledges the contribution of its alumni.”

Some of the top-ranking students were also felicitated during the programme. Shubha, a telecommunication engineering student, says, “Every time I see somebody being felicitated for their achievement, I am motivated to work harder and reach that stage. Founder’s day is all about recognising and acknowledging the
winners.”

BNMIT provides equal importance to both academic and extracurricular activities. Meghana, an engineering student, says, “Never once has any lecturer discouraged us from dancing or singing practice. In fact, we have a cultural forum called Kala Baghirathi.”
Navneeth, the first rank table tennis student in Karnataka in the ‘Under 21’ category and an engineering student, says, “I dedicate all my success to the support I have gained from the institute and my coach. I have won four gold and two silver medals in this sport. And the appreciation I have got here is very motivating.”
