Selection trials for MEG

  Selection trials for the Army Boys Sports Company of the Madras Engineer Group and Centre (MEG) will be held at the Kendriya Vidyalaya Pavilion, Opposite Boys Sports Company, near Thomas Bakery, St John’s Road, on December 3 from 5 am to 7 pm.

The selection will be held for boxing, hockey and swimming.
“Those in the age group of 11 and 15 years and minimum sixth class pass are eligible,” a press release from MEG said.

They are to report at the venue, along with their original/certified copies of birth certificates, six copies of latest photographs, certificates of participation in district and above level games if any, sports kit for participation in selection for respective games and educational qualifications.

The boys enrolled in the Boys Sports Company will be given education up to class 12, free boarding and lodging, uniform, books and stationery, sports kit, 60 days leave, free travelling expenses, medical and group insurance. It is mandatory for the boys who have enrolled, to join the Army at the age of 17 years and six months, the press release said.
