JOIN USA man killed his son-in-law Babu Reddy, 40, in Subbayyana Palya Wednesday morning.Mohan Reddy, 60, had brought up Babu Reddy, his sister’s son, as he was orphaned early in his childhood. Fifteen years ago, he married off his daughter Kalpana to Babu Reddy.
The couple have a thirteen-year-old son Chandrashekar Reddy. The family hails from Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh.
After retiring from the Army, Babu Reddy was working as a security supervisor with a private company Syscon near Jigani. However, Babu Reddy had turned alcoholic and was harassing Kalpana physically and mentally. He also suspected her fidelity.
A few days ago, Mohan Reddy came to Kalpana’s house in the City. Mohan Reddy and Babu Reddy repeatedly had tiffs regarding the latter's errant behaviour.
On Tuesday night too, Babu Reddy returned home late at night heavily drunk and started abusing his wife. Mohan Reddy objected to it and a quarrel ensued between the two. Kalpana intervened and separated the two. The two again got into an argument Wednesday morning and in a fit of rage Babu Reddy slapped his father-in-law.
He also asked Mohan Reddy to leave his house immediately. Enraged Mohan Reddy picked up a machete lying nearby and hit Babu Reddy on the head. When he fell down, he banged a cement hollow brick on his head killing him instantly.
Later, he informed the police and surrendered before the Banasawadi Police. Mohan Reddy has been arrested.
