The elephant, said to be aged between 10 and 12 years does not have any bullet injuries.
However, it is difficult to ascertain the exact cause of death as the body has been highly decomposed.
Speaking to Deccan Herald, Veterinary Officer Dr Srinivas said that the post mortem details may reveal the cause of death.
The body was burnt on the spot. DFO Karunakar, ACF Shashidhar and Range Officer M S Chinnappa visited the spot.
