A first year PU student survived a bid on his life when three persons attacked him with knives on Thursday. However, the incident came to light on Saturday.
The college management suspended a student, Pawan Kumar, who is one of the three suspects involved in the robbery. Jabiulla, 16, a resident of Mysore Road and a Commerce student at Austin College in Chamarajpet, is recovering from the stab injuries, said the police.
He told the police that soon after he went out of the college after attending classes on Thursday, three youths in their early 20s came near him while he was waiting for his friends. They threatened him to hand over the valuables.
When he refused, they beat him.
On noticing a police vehicle, Jabiwulla managed to free himself and rush towards the vehicle, crying for help and the trio fled the scene.
The police nabbed one of the suspects and shifted Jabiulla to Victoria Hospital for treatment. He said he had not seen the three before.
