Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge T Eashwer Rao dismissed the bail petition on the grounds that further investigations into the case was in progress by the CBI.

"The petitioner's presence is also required for the scientific investigation as a petition in this regard is pending before a division bench of the High Court," the judge said and dismissed the bail petition.

Raju, who is undergoing treatment for his heart and Hepatitis-C ailments in NIMS hospital here, had filed a petition with the court requesting him to release on health grounds and also to enable him to defend himself to charges being framed against him in Satyam fraud case by several investigating agencies.

With regard to the contention of Raju’s counsel to release him on health grounds, the judge noted that Raju was being treated with expert doctors and the jail authorities had kept him in the VIP cell at the hospital.

There was no need for warranting to enlarge him on bail on medical grounds, the judge said.
