Speaking at an interactive session with Mangaloreans, especially the entrepreneurs, the High Commissioner elaborated on the long standing business relationship between the British government and the state of Karnataka and explained his plans to engage in business relationship with other cities in the State including Mangalore.
“I would like to see more UK companies in Mangalore and more Indian companies in UK,” he added. The High Commissioner had a whole team of experts with him, who later interacted with interested entrepreneurs from the City on the trade and investment possibilities in UK.
The programme was hosted by Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI). KCCI Vice President G G Mohandas Prabu, Secretary Chandrakanth Rai and others were present on the occasion.
It may be noted that Hyde had visited Mangalore as a guest of KCCI in last March when he was the Deputy High Commissioner Designate and had promised to come back with a team. The British Deputy High Commission was inaugurated in Bangalore last month by Karnataka Governor H R Bharadwaj.
