Cops nab man who hired assailants to eliminate sister, her husband

 A man has been arrested for getting his sister and brother-in-law killed at their house in north-west Delhi’s Netaji Subhash Place for grabbing their property, police said on Wednesday.

According to P Karunakaran, deputy commissioner of police (north-west), Pawan Jindal of Aman Vihar hired three contract killers — Sandeep Kumar, Vikram Dalal and Chandveer — who killed Satpal Garg and his wife Ramkali on October 30.

“Pawan lived at Satpal’s property in Aman Vihar where he was running a firewood stall and dealership in property. The plot was, however, vacated by Satpal in July,” Karunakaran said.

On this, Pawan became revengeful and conspired with Chandveer to eliminate Satpal to grab the property. Pawan and Chandveer roped in Sandeep and Vikram, and paid Rs 1 lakh for committing the crime.

“We have arrested Pawan and Sandeep, but Vikram and Chandveer are absconding. Raids are being conducted at various places in Delhi, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh to apprehend them,” Karunakaran added.

An investigation was taken up after Satpal and Ramkali were found in a pool of blood at their Sri Nagar house on October 30. Satpal was declared brought dead at Maharaja Agrasen Hospital, while Ramkali was at Max Hospital in Pitampura.

Initial probe found that the couple was strangled, and their house was ransacked. Family members claimed that Rs 2.5 lakh in cash, some documents related to property and jewellery were missing.

It also came to light that entry into the house was friendly. So the probe focused on two angles — enmity and robbery. Then a case was lodged with Netaji Subhash Place police station.

Two dedicated teams of north-west special staff and Netaji Subhash Place police station were constituted.

“Local criminals having previous similar modus operandi were verified and apart from that family members and relatives of the victims were called up for interrogation,” Karunakaran said.

It established that Satpal had a tiff with Pawan over a property. Pawan was then interrogated, but his reply was not satisfactory.

During further investigation, Chandveer’s and Vikram’s roles came to notice.
“When they were asked to join police probe, they did not turn up. It was then found that Vikram was in touch with Sandeep just a few days before the date of incident,” Karunakaran said.

Sandeep of Haryana’s Jhajjar district was then apprehended. He told police that he along with Chandveer and Vikram had killed Satpal and Ramkali.
“Sandeep disclosed that Pawan planned the conspiracy and paid Rs 1 lakh for committing the crime,” Karunakaran added.
