'I want to do something different'

You would never find actress Priyamani doing the mundane. She always attempts something out-of-the-box and the proof was there for all to see in her role of conjoined twins in Charulatha.

Priyamani confesses that she wouldn’t mind doing a challenging role, if it
comes by. The actress has completed shooting for Lakshmi where she plays the role of Shivarajkumar’s wife.

She says working with Shivanna has been an enriching experience. “He’s so energetic and full of life. It’s fabulous working with someone who has such vast experience behind him. During the shoot, we talked a lot. That helped in strengthening the character,” she gushes.

Priyamani says she and Shivanna play a couple, very much in love. “But there’s a twist that occurs and that changes the course of the movie. The scene opens with Shivanna searching for me and that’s the suspense which stays throughout the film. It’s a quest for truth and is packed with loads of adventure,” she adds.

Priyamani feels that the light conversations that she and Shivanna had in between the breaks were refreshing.

“We would talk about random things such as the celebrity cricket league.

Shivanna would often share his experiences of shooting and the very sight of him on the sets would energise those around him,” she notes.

Priyamani is simultaneously working on a Telugu movie titled Angulika, which is a mythological film.

The film, she explains, tries to draw a connection between the present and the past. Priyamani has been listening to a lot of scripts but she says she is yet to choose any.  “I am just relaxing at the moment and in no hurry to do one movie after another.

I want to try out something truly different from what I am doing at the moment,” she avers. What about doing item numbers? Priyamani feels that there’s nothing wrong in doing one.

“There are no hard and fast rules. If something good comes by, why not attempt an item number?” she wraps up.
